Sustainable architecture

Energy efficiency in buildings.

Born on November 9 th of 1989 in Tirana, Albania, Gerdi is an architect who is passionate about computational and algorithmic design topics as well as digital fabrication. His first steps in the computational design field are taken as his high school education is focused on electronics. He finishes his master studies in Architecture and Urban Design at Polis University in 2014 where he deals with a thesis in Interactive Architecture. His main fields of interest from that point on focus on the digital aspects of designing architecture with a professional master in Parametric Design finished at Polis University in 2016. During this time he also practiced as an assistant lecturer at Polis University in the corses of Information Architecture as well as Computer Aided Design. He started his PhD studies in the joint doctorate program between Polis University and Ferrara in 2016-2017 where he is now developing a thesis on Digital Fabrication and Emergency Shelters.

I'm interested on Landscape desig but I love creating in general

Architecture is a chance we have to make a better future. Creating spaces, ambience that reflect emotions, beauty, function and comfort. 

I am very interested in studying housing that addresses crucial issues, such as affordable living, sustainable design and flexible housing.

Saimir Kristo, PhD is a practicing architect and urban designer, Vice-Dean and lecturerin the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Creative Industries at BARLETI University. From 2013 until2021 he has served as Vice-Dean in the Faculty of Architecture and Design at POLIS University. Asan alumnus of the International Visitor Leadership Program organized by the State Department ofthe U.S.A and member of civil society, He is active in engaging communities and developing acommon platform for discussion in the field of architecture and urban planning. He is the curatorof Tirana Architecture Week 2014 -[En] Visioning Future Cities and Tirana Design Week 2015 –Design NOW, following his experience in several Urban Regulatory Plans in Albania. Keynotespeaker in several conferences and member of international award juries. He is a board memberof A10 new European Architecture Cooperative in the Netherlands, Future Architecture Platformproject manager for Albania and organizer of PechaKucha Night Tirana. His research activitiesextend out of Albania with books and various publications in international journals. As he believessocial contribution is very important for the development of a sustainable community, he servesas Board member of “Fundjavë Ndryshe” philanthropic organization that aims to diminish povertyand social inequality in Albania.

Trying to establish a dialogue between man and architecture. As architect I am trying to convey with my work, and if the message is loud and clear, which means that the focus and the dialogue has been successfully established.

Architecture and Design

A strong believer in the ability of the research combined with design thinking for strengthening our societies. My focus consists in architectural design principles, patterns and practices.
